Chapter One

Author’s Rambles!

Please note that the setting is in Taiwan! However the education system in this story definitely not base off the Taiwanese education system, it’s more westernized. Just go with it since this is a fanfic haha xD Enjoy chapter one! =)

Chapter One: The Typical Morning

Someone suddenly waved her hands in my face, and asked, “Wei, Guigui! Earth to Wu Ying Jie! Guigui! You Okay?”

That was my best friend, Joanne Zeng, better known as Qiao Qiao. As I like to call her a social butterfly. Easy-going girl who get’s straight “A’s”. I knew this girl every since we were in diapers, we’ve been through lots together, from school work to family problems to boys, everything! My “BFF”, Best friend forever.

Giving me quite a fright, I couldn’t help but gave her a quick scold and slapped her hand lightly, “Hey, don’t do that! I’m alright, just daydreaming.”

“Whatcha thinking about? Wang Zi?” she questioned me with a giggle. Heck, why in the world would I be thinking of him! Rolling my eye I just ignored her as I continued to walk down to the metro bus stop. Suddenly, a metro bus just flies by. Just great. Now we missed the bus again!

Qiao Qiao groaned, “Awww, this is the third time this week.”

“Tell me about it! It’s your fault you know! Now we are going to be late!”

“How is it my fault this time, fine I admit it was my fault last time, but this time nuh uh. You slept in, so ha!” she pulled her tongue out at me.

“Whatever. I bet were gonna get detention this time from Mr. Chen.”

“Wait, we can ask Aaron to drive us. He should be,” Qiao Qiao glanced at her watch, “picking up Reen right now. We can call him to give us a lift.”

Aaron, Aaron Yan Yalun, Qiao Qiao’s cousin. He’s pretty cool to hang with, but I kinda hate hanging around him sometimes since he can be tremendously annoying I tell you, if not at least to me. I must admit, he is hot but I definitely promise you that we will never be more than friends. Not like we ever will have a chance together anyways since he does have a girlfriend.

A couple minutes after Qiao Qiao had gave Aaron a call, he appears right in front of us with Reen, his girlfriend in his black BMW. Hmmm, is it me or does he switch his cars every day? Oh whatever, rich kids these days, so spoiled, not that they aren’t ever spoiled.

“Why do you guys miss the bus practically every day?” Aaron raised his right eyebrow with a small smirk.

“None of your business, am I right Mr. Yan?” I quickly retorted him; see how easily he could get on my nerves?

“It is his business, he’s the one giving you two a ride,” Reen turned and gave me a slight glare. Whatever.

Reen Lu, dating Aaron for a month or so, well to be exact it’s been thirty-three days so far. Wait, don’t tell me I actually counted how long they’ve dated, how is them dating any of my business? Good heavens. Anyways, Reen is also one of the popular girls in our school. I never really liked her though, she’s quite nice but I don’t exactly know why I dislike her, oh who am I kidding, I hate her. She seems to always get on my nerves. And if you say this is jealousy, like why should I be jealous of her? Please…

In no longer than five minutes we arrived. Ling Tung High School.

Strolling over to my locker with Qiao Qiao, there was Calvin Chen and Qiu Sheng Yi. Calvin Chen as in Qiao Qiao’s boyfriend, don’t they just look cute together, they just started dating recently due to me being the matchmaker might I add. Qiu Sheng Yi, better known as Wang Zi is Calvin and Aaron's best bud. My old crush but now I think he likes me now but since I said he is my old crush, it's given that I don’t like him anymore.

Suddenly the five minute bell rang, indicating that students should head to homeroom.

“Bye Aaron, see you in Physics,” Reen gave Aaron a sweet smile and walked away.

“Let’s go,” Calvin held Qiao Qiao’s hand and led her to homeroom as Aaron and I followed. Us four had the same homeroom together. Mr. Chen, room 143.

*

Third Period. The only class where I’m only with Aaron. Did I mention each period is 100 minutes since we have three alternating periods between Tuesday to Friday? And you know what? It's torture! Here we are, Japanese with Mrs. Kimura. Today we’re doing some cooking. Yakisoba. It’s like pan fried, rice noodles. I love it when we have cooking classes in Japanese but today is kinda different. Yakisoba is delicious but I have to help cook it with Aaron. I have no problem cooking, but with him…great, isn’t this gonna be fun.

“You know, you’re suppose to put the cooked veggies in the noodles then the meat. Not meat then veggies,” I scolded him.

Rolling his eyes, “Does it really matter?”

Giving him a sarcastic smile of mine I said, “Some people may be vegetarian here you know. Plus it makes perfect sense.”

God, I hate his attitude. So arrogant. See, how easy it takes him to make me get pissed. Argh. I bet sensei heard us bickering or else she wouldn’t come right toward us. It's actually Mrs. Kimura but I grew accustomed to calling her sensei. A sweet woman really, a bit to the plump side though. She's from Taiwanese descent but her husband is Japanese hence the name Kimura.

“Any troubles?” Sensei asked.

Yes! Totally! Do I really have to cook with him? I mean he’s a horrible cook!

“Aren’t you supposed to put the veggies in before the meat?”

“It doesn’t matter really. Nobody in here is vegetarian.”

“See told you,” Aaron gave me a smirk, god how much I want to wipe it off his face.

Whatever.

I rolled my eyes as I continued with the cooking, looking at the clock, it read ‘10:30’. Great, just great…Japanese is going to last for years. Sigh.
